Trays
When developing trays, the fresh product is key. Quality Pack develops trays made of plastic, cardboard and pulp. Each material has its own unique properties. For instance, transparent plastic serves to emphasise the visibility and freshness of fresh produce, cardboard options – in addition to having a sustainable look – provide lots of opportunities for printing and to distinguish between fresh products. Whilst trays made of pulp represent a biodegradable option with a natural look that highlights local, fresh and traditionally grown produce.
In all cases, when determining the measurements of plastic, cardboard or pulp trays, we take into consideration the fresh product, the content of the packaging and suitability for placement in EPS crates or boxes.
Plastic trays
We design plastic trays made of PET, rPET or PP. These trays can be transparent or designed in a coloured plastic and provided with printing. Depending on the fresh product we add perforations to the underside and/or sides of the trays to ensure air circulation. Plastic trays are sealed using flowpack or top-seal film, with a lid or are available in a clamshell design. We’re happy to help with the various options!
Cardboard trays
We make cardboard trays from cardboard and FSC-certified cardboard. Depending on the contents of the packaging, we add a coating and perforations to the underside and/or sides of the cardboard to ensure air circulation and guarantee shelf life of products. Like plastic trays, cardboard trays are sealed using flowpack or top-seal film, with a cover or are available in a clamshell design. Our latest invention is a cardboard Stackpack tray with special multi-seal film.
Cardboard trays provide many printing options and are, therefore, popular with private label brands that want to stand out on the market. Quality Pack specialises in developing unique brand concepts, and we have in-house expertise to provide customers with complete peace of mind in the design and production process.
Pulp trays
Pulp trays consist of material that is moulded into shape once, twice or multiple times. How many pressings depends on the intended use and the desired look of the packaging.
We are happy to help come up with a total concept, and can top off the trays with a corresponding film, lid or label and will happily design corresponding boxes or material for transport and storage. We are committed to providing the most suitable packaging concept, giving you peace of mind.
